Bhutanese community in Utah and its members were dreaming about the Saptaha Puran for many years and the dream has finally come true for them.

The Holy Kalash Yatra ceremony (Inauguration ceremony) initiated today from 10:00AM and lasted until 12:30pm. All people present at this holy kalash yatra walked from Granite High School (500 East 3300 South) to Krishna Temple (945 E 3450 South) holding Kalash on their hands.

Doing the Kalash yatra ensures that everyone is purified and ready in every ways for the puran. The ceremony ended with speech from Hindu scholars known as pandits (priests).

Bhutanese Community in Utah claims that Saptaha Puran will bring together everyone from the community in one place (Krishna Temple : 965 E 3370 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106). However, the main goal of this puran to make sure that younger generations acknowledge their culture, religion, and traditions and the older generations get to listen to the holy text Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Mahapuran in Nepali Language (Actual text is written in Sanskrit).

The official start date is Sunday August 2, 2015 from 9:00AM to 8:00PM. This puran will continue until next Saturday, August 8. Schedule for events can be found by accessing the link below:
